Memorial Service for Olga Zoltai

Olga M. Zoltai, a former President and long-time active member of the Minnesota Hungarians, died June 9, 2016 at age 84.  A memorial service will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at Unity Church-Unitarian in St. Paul, MN.

Memorial Service will be at 3 pm on Sunday, August 28 at Unity Church-Unitarian, 732 Holly Avenue, Saint Paul.

Obituary from Pioneer Press, June 12, 2016:

"Olga, M. Zoltai, age 84, of St. Paul Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 9, 2016. Born in Hungary, Olga came to North America in 1949 and lived a life of service to her fellow refugees as Casework Supervisor at the International Institute of Minnesota. Upon her retirement in 1993, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune dubbed her the local 'Patron Saint of Immigrants' in a front page tribute to her career. In 2012, Olga was recognized for her pioneering work, receiving the 'Immigrant of Distinction' Award from the American Immigration Lawyers Association, along with a proclamation from the Governor and Mayors of St. Paul and Minneapolis recognizing her achievements. This past March, the International Institute created the 'Olga Zoltai' Award, to be awarded annually in honor of extraordinary contributions to help new Americans. Olga has often said that she loves 'to give back to this country that has given me so much!"\' Preceded in death by her parents, one brother and her husband Tibor. Survived by her brother Andy (Dana), daughters Lili and Kitty (Mark), son Peter (Deb), grandchildren Karen, Dan, Emily, Corrie (Darin), Alex, Barrett (Tram), Ryan, and Jason (Kate), and great grandchildren Charlie, Willa, and Maddy and two little ones due later this year. Memorial Service will be at 3 pm on Sunday, August 28 at Unity Church-Unitarian, 732 Holly Avenue, Saint Paul. Memorial gifts preferred to the International Institute of Minnesota Building Fund."
